Lovely pictures! The one in the gallery features a painting by the enlightenment painter, Joseph Wright, entitled The Orrery. My mother used to be the curator of the Joseph Wright Gallery in Derby and many years ago I followed this painting with my mother on a grand tour of London, Paris and New York, as part of a Joseph Wright exhibition that she curated. How lovely, and apt, to see it featured in one of your lovely, thoughtful posts!
WOW, thank you Eleanor! I love Joseph Wright too! I would love to have your mother’s job. He was an amazing artist. I absolutely love his use of light. So happy that there are more people out there who appreciate him. You’ve made my day Eleanor!
That’s great that you know who he is as not many people do! Yes his use of light was amazing! It shows that the same rules apply for painting and photography – it’s all about the light! Eleanor x
This is amazing post, amazing. I loved so much. Thank you, Blessing and Happiness, Love, nia

What a sentiment – I feel so sorry for children who are collected from school and then dragged round a supermarket but young people seem so busy
